I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
